Micromax, at the time of MWC 2015 trade show in Barcelona, has launched a new handset in India, the Canvas Fire 4. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 6,999 and is available both on e-commerce websites and physical retail stores starting Monday. The handset is not yet listed on the company website.
The Micromax Canvas Fire 4 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and features a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels) resolution display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The handset is powered by an unspecified 1.3GHz quad-core processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM.
The smartphone also houses an 8-megapixel rear and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Backed by a 2000mAh battery, the budget Canvas Fire 4 can deliver up to 300 hours of standby time. The handset also sports dual front-firing speakers and Cirrus Logic Wolfsan Stereo DAC (WM8918) to enhance the audio output. While inbuilt storage has not been detailed, Micromax says the handset supports storage expandability via microSD card (up to 32GB).
Some of the pre-loaded apps on Micromax Canvas Fire 4 are Newshunt, Paytm, Dr. safety, Snapdeal, Saavn, App Center, MAD, Ask me, Clean Master, Quickr, and Chaatz. The handset’s specifications match a lot with the recently launched Canvas Pep. However, the Canvas Fire 4 comes with better camera and battery capacity.
Micromax last month launched its the Canvas Selfie at Rs. 15,999. Some of the key specification of the handset are 4.7-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display, 1.7GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB), 13-megapixel front and rear cameras, and 2300mAh battery.
The highlight of the Micromax Canvas Selfie is its 13-megapixel front and rear cameras that are both accompanied by LED flash modules and Sony sensors. The smartphone’s features few inbuilt camera tools such as eye enhancement; face slimming; skin smoothening; teeth whitening; remove oil; fade dark circles, and make-up.
